Army Language Program - Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI)
The Army has instituted a new program designed to recruit foreigners who are legal residents of the United States. The aim of the program is to bring culturally attuned people into the ranks that will assist the Army in some of its deployments overseas - whether in Iraq, Afghanistan or during a training exercise. The program is called Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest or MAVNI for short.
